The IC-718 has a speaker mounted on the front panel. With the speaker facing the operator, audio sounds can be clearly heard without impediment during operation. It is no longer necessary to manually increase the volume to try and capture audio sounds.
The IC-718 has 0.03-29.999999 MHz* general coverage receive capability. A 4-element system is employed for the 1st receive mixer, providing superior receive IMD, especially from in-band near-by interfering signals. A well-designed double-conversion system to help minimize image and spurious responses for better signal fidelity, is also built-in. A newly designed PLL circuit has been adopted to improve C/N ratio characteristics. The combination of the 4-element system mixer and new PLL circuit allows superior basic performance as that of a commercial grade transceiver.

Noise reduction:
Pulls desired AF signals from noise. Outstanding S/N ratio is achieved, providing clean audio in SSB, AM and FM.
Automatic Notch filter:
This automatically minimizes beat signals and heterodynes while preserving the receive signal. Also, the notch frequency is automatically adjusted to follow interfering beat signals - for example, reducing interference from RTTY signals during SSB operation.
To reject interference, the IC-718 has an IF shift function which shifts the center frequency of the IF passband electronically to reduce adjacent interference.
This feature compresses microphone audio input to increase average audio output level. The result is, that talk power is increased. The compression level is adjustable for your preference. This function is effective for long distance communication, or when propagation conditions are poor.
RF gain control is combined with the squelch control. The RF gain adjusts minimum response receiver gain, and ignores signals weaker than the pre-set level - providing pleasant stand-by, or scanning.
An electronic keyer with a variable dot/dash ratio (2.8:1 to 4.8:1) control is built-in. By simply connecting a paddle, easy CW operation can be made. The CW pitch and the key speed are also variable from 300-900 Hz, 6-60 wpm, respectively. Of course, full break-in capability is available with the adjustable break-in delay.
A VOX (Voice operated transmission) is included with the IC-718. It provides handsfree operation by detecting audio signals from the microphone. It' s easy! Flexible filter selection

An optional IF filter can be installed into the transceiver to suit your operating preference.

When the optional CR-338 HIGH STABILITY CRYSTAL UNIT is installed, you get a very high frequency stability of ±0.5 ppm.

Either the optional antenna tuner unit, AT-180 or AH-4 can be used with the IC-718 to suit your installing conditions, or operating style. Of course, the AH-4 control circuit is built into the IC-718.
The IC-718 is equipped with a minimum number of switches and controls for superior feature selectability. The 10-key pad on the front panel for entering directly an operating frequency, or a memory channel number. The auto tuning steps function helps quick tuning is activate when turning the dial quickly. And the band stacking register is very convenient when changing operating bands.
Built-in multi functional digital S/RF meter indicates signal strength level while receiving, and either transmit output power, ALC level or VSWR ratio while transmitting.
A clear, electronically-generated voice announces operating frequency, mode and receiving signal strength level when the optional voice synthesizer unit, UT-102, is installed.

ICOM AH-4 ANTENNA TUNER

The Icom AH-4 automatic antenna tuner is designed to work with select ICOM transceivers including the Icom. It provides reliable matching of frequencies from 3.5 to 54 MHz when using a wire of at least 23 feet (7 m) in length. It can also be used for matching 7 to 54 MHz when used with the optional ICOM AH-2b antenna element. The built-in 8-bit microprocessor chooses the lower SWR condition from more than 1,040,000 different LC (coil/capacitance) combinations.
The LC combinations of 45 previously-used frequencies are automatically memorized by the AH-4. Once a frequency is memorized, the AH-4 tunes on that frequency is less than one second. (Memories are retained only when the power is on). The AH-4 is sealed in a plastic weatherproof case for convenient mounting outdoors under your antenna. The transceiver and the AH-4 tuner must have a proper ground connection. Use a short heavy gauge wire or strap for this. This tuner may be attached to a pole using the two supplied U Bolts, or to a flat surface (screws and bolts are supplied).
The AH-4 comes with a 16 foot (5 m) control cable that connects to the rear panel of compatible Icom transceiver. A 16 foot (5 m) raw coax cable and two PL-259s are supplied to connect the transceivers antenna output to the AH-4 antenna input. The PL-259s must be soldered on by the user.
This tuner requires about 10 watts (5-15 Watts) to activate and can handle up to 120 watts. It operates on 13.8 VDC (less than 2 Amps) drawn from the transceiver control cable. Size:  7 x 2.9 x 9.2 inches 2.65 lbs. (172x70x230mm 1.2 kg).

The FA150 is a shipborne Universal AIS (Automatic Identification System) Transponder capable of exchanging navigation and ship data between own ship and other ships or coastal stations. The FA150 consists of a transponder unit and a compact display unit with 4.5" Silver Bright Display.  The Furuno’s new 1945 Radar is a high contrast 10.4" color LCD radar designed for a wide range of vessels including pleasure craft, fishing boats and work boats. This new radar offers crystal clear target presentation with automatic Gain/Sea/Rain controls to deliver noise-free radar presentation. It features superb detection of even small targets both at short and long range. It also boasts all-new display modes which will assist you with navigating safely on all waters.

 The 1945 allows you to see far away objects before they are visible, and allows you to see in the dark, fog or during periods of obstructed visibility in any weather condition. AIS/ARPA Display:
With the optional ARP11 internal ARPA PCB, up to 10 ARPA targets can be tracked and overlaid on the radar screen to assist the operator in monitoring other vessel movements. With the connection of an external AIS receiver, up to 100 AIS may also be tracked. A variety of navigational information such as vessel name, speed, ROT, draft, and the destination of the selected targets can be included in real time. Unlike ARPA targets, AIS targets are visible on-screen even if they are obscured by large ships or islands, since AIS works by VHF transceiver system and does not require line-of-sight. Both ARPA and AIS require heading input.
Off-Center Mode:
With a push of the “OFF CENTER” button, own ship position can be shifted to a pre-registered point on the screen, allowing the operator to focus on a specific area ahead of or around the vessel without losing track of the position.

The FURUNO GPS navigator GP-39 provides accurate and reliable position fixing, thanks to a 12-channel
GPS receiver combined with integrated SBAS (WAAS/EGNOS/MSAS) technology.
The GP-39 has various display modes (Plotter, Highway, Steering, NAV data, Satellite monitor and 2 user customizable modes) on the 4.2" color LCD. Up to 3,000 points of ship track, 10,000 waypoints and 100
routes (each with up to 30 waypoints) can be stored. The waypoint and route data can be exported/imported via a USB flash drive or signal converter.
The GP-39 can be networked with a fish finder, sonar, radar or other navigation equipment for feeding highly accurate navigation data.

The MODEL 1715 is a high contrast LCD radar designed for pleasure craft and small fishing boats. Radar echoes are presented in four shades of gray on the 7" Silver Bright LCD. The Radar offers detailed pictures of coastline and targets at short ranges thanks to narrower pulselengths and dual IF bandwidths. The antenna rotation speed automatically changes depending on the range selection for optimum target detection. The compact, waterproof display allows table top or panel mounting in the cockpit or on the open fly bridge.
The radar has a power saving Watchman mode. In this mode, the antenna is stopped and the transmission is off, while the screen displays nav data only. The radar wakes up at a specified time interval (5, 10 or 20 min) and operates for a minute. If a target enters the Guard Zone, an audible alarm sounds and the radar goes into its normal operating mode, cancelling the Watchman mode. The alarm may also be set to work for a target leaving the Zone.
Other standard features include: EBL (Electronic Bearing Line), VRM (Variable Range Marker), TLL output (Target L/L), Cursor L/L readout, Echo Trail, Guard Zone Alarm, Anti Clutter Rain, Automatic control of tuning and sensitivity. The A/C RAIN control improves the target detection in the rain by elaborate design of the receiver.
With use of nav data inputs in NMEA 0183 format, the radar offers additional functions. Graphical and numeric waypoint information can be shown on the display. The Waypoint is indicated by a lollipop mark for easy identification on the radar display. In the TLL output function, you can use the cursor to output a specified target's L/L to the optional GPS navigator as a mark.
